Last summer I did production for Josefin Arnell and her new film WILD FILLY STORY that opened at the Oslo Art Weekend. In close connection with the young crew at Floradorp Ranch in Amsterdam North we developed acting classes and worked intensively with each other and the horses to further develop the characters.
Wild Filly Story, starring a pack of adolescent girls from a therapeutic stable, playing out a fictionalized script that prompts questions about friendship, being a misfit, normativity, fetishization, and female empowerment. Directed in the manner of a reality TV show, the young girls method-act through stages of agitation, drawing on the artist’s own rural childhood in Sweden … ‘- Rhea Dall.
Happy to involve Rutger Buiter, who designed a brilliant choreography for the fighting scene at one of our rainy shooting days in July. Will never forget the short training into compassion between horse and human at Be Stable of Michelle Bannink, followed by a long swim with the horses. Many thansk to Eltina at Floradorp Ranch for having us around all these weeks and for participating with the whole family
